Boy oh boy does pregnancy do a number on....ummm everything? Skin, hair, body? During and after pregnancy....it's wild! Since working in the beauty industry, I've become a little more knowledgeable about certain things, but I've also loved trying new products and brands...I've become pretty loyal to a few, and some of the products I've been obsessed with since giving birth are definitely worth giving a try!  Here are my top picks for head to toe postpartum skincare:

SOL DE JANERIO BRAZILIAN BUM BUM CREAM:

One thing I started to notice maybe 2-3 months post partum was how dry every inch of my skin was getting…from my face, to my elbows and (no i’m not kidding) my BUTT! Maybe it had something to do with it being the dead of winter, but my skin was thirsty for some hydration. I was using some creams for stretch marks, but they weren’t really helping my core issue of DRY SKIN!

I’ve heard of Sol De Janeiro before and was told their ‘Bum Bum Cream’ is beyond amazing. I gave it a try and oh my word, it made an insane difference. From my legs, to thighs to my ‘Bum Bum’ my skin drank in this cream so easily. Not greasy, not sticky, AND I even started using it on my stretch marks on my hips and belly. Bottom line, this cream is life changing for more than your booty.

Worth the money, give it a try!

SUNDAY RILEY U.F.O ULTRA-CLARIFYING FACE OIL:

During my pregnancy, and while I was breastfeeding, I was very aware of the product ingredients in everything. Once I was on the end of breastfeeding, it was nice to be able to tap into some products that I wasn’t able to use for about a year.

My face was actually pretty good (aside from being dry), the first few months, until I started to decrease my breastfeeding frequency, then it was game over. BREAK OUT CITY! Then i stumbled upon this gem:

“With 1.5 percent salicylic acid, this fast-acting, quick-drying, medicated oil clears acne and blackhead-causing buildup and debris from congested pores for smoother, blemish-free skin.”

DAMNNN GINA, did it deliver! God bless that salicylic acid. I did inquire with Sunday RIley to make sure it was safe to use while breastfeeding, and they said it was but to consult with my doctor first, so I did wait until I completely stopped feeding (just to be safe).

I’ll say this…not greasy, I was able to layer with my serum and moisturizer. It was such a good base that was actually delivering the results I needed. I don’t even use it every day….3-4 times a week, and I’m golden!

SKYN ICELAND ARCTIC HYDRATION RUBBERIZING MASK WITH VITAMIN C:

Ok, so no lie, I came across this mask through a beauty influencer that I follow, Michaela Podolsky, she’s great.

It looked fun and interested, and then I saw ‘HYDRATION’ and I was sold to at least give it a try. I’ll admit it was more work than I was hoping for, but unlike MOST masks I’ve tried in the past, once I had this mask on my face (which yes, takes time and some effort) I didn’t want to take it off. It was cooling and hydrating and wasn’t uncomfortable on my face like most sheet masks, and I was able to immediately feel the results.

If you’re looking for a mask, I HIGHLY recommend this rubberized mask. You’ll even get that fun instagram pic. #GOALS!

KORA ORGANICS NONI RADIANT EYE OIL:

Being a new mom will bring on those puffy bags & dark circles under your eyes, and i don’t know about you but I was NOT here for it.

I tried a few under eye treatments, and sticks and blah.

It took some time and few products, but I finally caved and gave Kora Organics a try. I wasn’t immediately obsessed, but after about a week or so, it was 100% apart of my everyday routine. I love the application, my skin absorbs it well, and I can start applying my make-up almost immediately after. Very soothing and I vote a keeper in my new routine.

AFRICAN BLACK SOAP MOISTURIZER ANTI-ACNE & CLARITY

Ok, so this moisturizer I received for free in gift bag, and was pretty close to giving away…I’m SO GLAD I DIDN’T.

As I mentioned, I was dealing with crazy breakouts and this was a god send! Completely moisturized my skin and helped defend again my breakouts. This was an unusual find that I can’t wait to use again.
